On polyvore I see that 11 year olds are wearing mascara! On certain people's profile it says things like I'm 11 and love mascara. No offense but don't you think 11 is young? I don't wear mascara and I'm 13.

I think it's ridiculous sometimes when 11 year olds OD on eye make up. It's too early for that. They're all still young and naturally pretty so I don't see why they should corrupt their youth with make up. I, for one, don't wear mascara or any other type of eye make up. Does anyone know of a really good mascara ?
One that doesn't clump after using it a couple times.

Depends what you are after. I use different ones depending on what look I am going for.
Daily wear I would recommend Maybeline, just the Volum Express. It needs 2 coats but is quite good and fairly cheap.
Middle of the road Mascara I would recommend clinique high impact or any of the 2 coat white then black type mascaras (although I do find that these can get quite flakey)
For ultimate lashes I would suggest YSL false lash as it's simply fabulous! I am buying some more for my wedding so I highly recommend it! However it does cost quite a bit.
Edited to add that I recommended all of these because I find them so easy to apply, the brushes get all of your lashes and none of them are too thick or gloopy!Does anyone know of a really good mascara ?

i like it...i have hazel eyes, but they're more like...greenish with an orangey colour around the pupil so i got the one for the green eyes instead of the one for the hazel eyes ,cuz the hazel stuff brings out the gold specks but i'd prefer it bring out the green...its the red bottle in the picture lol...doesn't thicken though and i like mascaras that do, but thats my only complaint about it lol although...i've been debating getting the lashblast luxe http://www.covergirl.ca/en_ca/products/p鈥?/a> cuz i love the lashblast mascara, and there just so happens to be a reddish colour that'll still bring out the green for me, so i dunno what colour your eyes are, but find the eyelights mascara thats for your eyes, and see if maybe the lashblast ones have a similar colour, if that makes any sense lol cuz the lashblast is a better mascara over all since its made to thicken and all that wonderful stuff, where as the eyelights are just made to enhance your eye colour...sorry if i make no sense haha xo,wavy hair

Okay I think I know what I'm talking about. I own a collection of 10 mascaras, thats right i collect mascaras. Anyway here is a list of my favorites for volumizing mascaras.
1. Lash Blast. I seriously didn't like it when I first tried it. I thought it flaked quite badly (which the regular version does which is why I buy the waterproof version) and didn't do much at all. Now that I actually own it, I love it and is my number one makeup staple.
2. Rimmel Lash Maxxx. This one is actually a comb which may take some getting used to since its not a usual time of mascara wand. It really works well however.
3. Revlon Fantasy Lash. This works nice and doesnt flake too badly. It is a two step mascara which can be confusing and very time consuming. If you don't have a lot of time in the mornings this is not the thing for you. However it does deliver results if applied correctly.
4. Rimmel Sexy Curves. This mascara curls and volumizes well but its not something that is going to make a person do a double take. I have only tried it a few times so this may not be the best review.
5. Max Factor Volume Couture. Good Mascara with a tendency to clump despite the plastic wand. It tends to pull my lashes and can be quite uncomfortable but other than that its not too bad at what it says to do.
6. Maybelline Colossal. Not bad. but a tendency to clump and it is a more classic wand. The above are all either the new plastic rubbery bristle or the rimmel lash maxx which is just plain plastic. It does have a funky smell which may bother some.
7. Define-A-Lash. This works VERY well at defining but I will so is not so much for volumizing. It is one of my favorite mascaras for a natural look andI couldn't make this list without mentioning it somewhere.

You may be putting too many strokes of it on, i used to have that problem but i like my eye lashes long and thick, so i found that if you put it on, even if its clumpy let it dry then just pull the tiny little bits off the ens of your eye lashes and thn get a pin or something like that and seperate the clumps! :D but be carefull you dont poke your eye xD
first, when you get the wand out the tube, make sure not to push it up and down, or else the mascara will get air inside and dry faster.
second, while applying the mascara start at the iner parts of ur eyelashes out to the ends....and as you apply it move it a bit from left to right...
*note: when you put mascara the inner part of your eyelashes is what shows the most ( for example thats where it will look thicker), not the ends.
also to get it smoothly you can blow dry (sounds weird, but it works) the wand for about 7 seconds then apply it.
using a brush helps a lot, to get the clumps out.

Your putting it on wrong then.
try not putting to much on, or use after, eyelash curlers

I'm currently using the colossal mascara also and i love how my lashes look like, but everyone is different. have you heard about the lash blast mascara from Cover Girl? its also one of my favorites and it priced to around $10 if you live in canada.

I love mascara since it's one of the few makeup products I wear, and I've never been able to get the look of long, lush lashes. I heard that Maybelline Intense XXL works really well, and I heard the same about L'oreal Double Extend.

Oils break down any and every make-up. Slather your eyes (and your whole face) with Vaseline when you are ready to remove makeup. Use your fingers or a cotton ball and just work the Vaseline in as if you are massaging your eyes (keep your eyes closed of course). Wipe off with a cotton ball or a tissue. I prefer tissue because cotton tends to leave itself behind and little tiny strands of the cotton will end up in your eye and drive you out of your mind. :)
Using baby oil or Vaseline will remove all make up, condition your eyelashes and moisturize your whole face. Voila!

Try taking a really hot steamy shower. This usually works for me, after you get out of the shower use makeup remover cloth and you will get the majority of. Waterproof mascara usually doesn't come off for about up to 3 days. Best of luck.
Clinique has a really good eye makeup remover that takes it away, and because it's for eye makeup it doesn't harm you if a little gets in your eyes. I use it and it works great, but there are other brands that have this as well, this is just the one I know works.

Drench your eyelashes in baby oil. I wouldn't recommend waterproof mascara. There are smudgeproof mascaras that are not waterproof.
Netrogena Make-Up Remover Wipes - they remove every single type of make-up, mascara included...or if that doesnt work, wet your eyelashes with baby oil.

you could dab the tip of the mascara against your eyelid and smudge it. It looks like smoky eyeliner.
I used to wear mascara to school then put eyeliner on when i get there then wipe it off before the bell.

buy ur own eyeliner secretly, carry it around in ur purse, when they're not there, put it on.
let them know that you dont plan on over-do-ing the makeup, you just want a few more things. experiment with different ways to apply makeup before you go out in public. be careful with eyeliner, because it can look harsh if you use too much, especially black.
eye shadow works great as eyeliner. just apply it like regular eyeliner and you're set. it may not last as long always but there's a bigger variety in colour.
you dont need to wear eyeliner at a young age but if you MUST wear it. go for brown.
wear it only around the house until they notice and then ask if it is okay since it is very subtle.
i think you should trade lipgloss for eyeliner. lipgloss allows more creativity and makes more of an impact with your look.

buy ur own eyeliner secretly, carry it around in ur purse, when they're not there, put it on.
let them know that you dont plan on over-do-ing the makeup, you just want a few more things. experiment with different ways to apply makeup before you go out in public. be careful with eyeliner, because it can look harsh if you use too much, especially black.
eye shadow works great as eyeliner. just apply it like regular eyeliner and you're set. it may not last as long always but there's a bigger variety in colour.
you dont need to wear eyeliner at a young age but if you MUST wear it. go for brown.
wear it only around the house until they notice and then ask if it is okay since it is very subtle.
i think you should trade lipgloss for eyeliner. lipgloss allows more creativity and makes more of an impact with your look.

Do you have any lotion? First use soap and water to remove as much as possible. Keep your eyes shut tightly and use lots of water to rinse. Then use a tissue with lotion to remove the rest.
In a pinch, I once used foundation to remove my eye make up. I quickly rubbed it on, then wiped it off with a tissue. Then used soap and water. The mascara is water proof but not soap proof so you should be able to remove most of it that way.

This works best if you first curl your lashes as it blends in better with them.

Any long-wearing mascara is fine. You just don't want any that flake because those particles can get in your eye and stick to the lenses. I like Lancome Definicils. The commercial got me and I just bought the Maybelline Define-A-Lash. I love it! The wand is shaped unlike others and it's flexible. Instead of doing it the whole length of your lashes just tap it on the roots once or twice.
well if ur macara doest dry super fast, aply to your upper lashes and then blink a LOT to get the mascara a tad bit onto ur lower lashes. Also u could just kinda tap the ends of ur lower lashes but dont brush onto them.
Don't put any on the bottom! I've got really long top lashes, so find that putting anything on the bottom lashes looks a bit horrid!
swipe it on regularly and then take your fingers and pinch your bottom lashes. it will make them more visible, but not too thick and heavy.
if you still don't like it, take a q-tip and wet one end and wipe bottom lashes until you like them.
Dont put that much on, or none.
i just set the brush at the part of my eye right above the lash and wiggle it a couple of times. it looks a lot better then putting it on the whole lash because that can make you look really dark around the eyes. i'd suggest buying a brown or dark brown mascara for your bottom lashes, it looks better then black on most people.
Put it on slowly and don't blink while you put it on.
Also, don't go the entire way of the bottom lash, just to the middle. it's complicated, but I'm not ashamed of my super-long eyelashes so I fill them in whole.
after you do your top lashes, use the mascara left on the brush or wipe off the excess on a tissue. hold the brush horizontaly and saw it back and forth on the outer most lashes. the more you draw the brush downward, the longer they will appear

You can't actually lengthen your lashes. If you want the kind of lashes you see on Jessica Simpson or Paris Hilton, you'll need false eye lashes. Apply them with the included glue and then apply a couple of coats of mascara. And get a good brand too, not some cheapo wal-mart deal. Avon's SuperFull Mascara works for me. Prior to my kiddos, I had full beautiful lashes... NATURALLY! But now I am deprived. SuperFull makes my lashes look amazing again.

Try to apply it to the side instead of straight up, kind of at an angle and it should make them lay better as well.
there are several mascaras that have a comb on the applicator wand so that the mascara won't clump. i don't have any personal preferences but i know that clinique makes a good one.

I've tried a few mascaras and never really been terribly impressed. I remember Maybelline first coming to the UK, I was overjoyed because it mean I'd be able to buy their Great Lash mascara. It was pretty much useless. I tried Max Factor and if you are wanting a ';budget'; brand, I'd go for one of theirs.
However, there is one mascara I finally found which really is wonderful. YSL Faux Cils (yes, I know, it means False Lash) is amazing. It also comes in a wider colour range than most. As well as Black, Brown and Dark Blue there is a kahki, burgundy and deep violet shade. Talk to an advisor about them, you don't use them to add colour, they look black when you are wearing them, but using the right shade really enhances the colour of your eyes.

hahaha technically they could. not that you'll just wake up and have no eyelashes but if you commonly do it, they get heavy and clumped and will start to look a lot thinner over time. You wont ever really notice like a big chunk of eyelash falling out but definitly that they appear thinner. It's not a good idea, anyways, Just get some makeup remover and wipe it over your eyes at night. If you ever wear fake eyelashes, this is even more important as the glue stuck to your real lashes WILL make them fall out in chunks!Could your eyelashes fall out if you dont take off mascara every night?
For years I wore make up and NEVER bothered to take it off before bed. Admittedly, it was never a heavy application of make up, but mascara is mascara, and it was usually still on there pretty good in the morning when I woke up.
I would gently wash my eyelashes in the shower, with soap, and then make sure to put some moisturizer on after I dried my face, and I never lost an eyelash because of this routine.
I did tend, however, to PICK at my eyelashes that still had mascara on [especially if the mascara wasn't fresh and the lashes would clump up just like the commercials claim] and that would end up pulling them out, and sometimes in large clumps, too. The gaps in my eyelashes were freakish, so I basically had to sit on my hands to keep them away from my eyes. The lashes always grow back, of course.
Now that I think about it, one of the reasons I got out of the habit of wearing make up was to avoid this stupid habit of yanking out eyelashes.
not so much fall out, more break, if u leave mascara on over night it hardens during the day beforehand and thus when ur sleeping ur eyelashes go against the pillow and cos they r more brittle they're more likely to snap. ive had it happen lost like 5 / 6 lashes. take it off i say

but eyelashes fall out all the time anyway, so it's not a huge deal. leaving mascara on for long periods of time will make them dry, weak and brittle though.
You lose eyelashes all the time. A little mascara isn't going to make a bit of difference.
my cousin came round she goes out quite alot and wears mascara when she comes round and takes it off her eyelashes keep coming off lol she's gonna look like sponge bob with 3 eye lashes

I did tend, however, to PICK at my eyelashes that still had mascara on [especially if the mascara wasn't fresh and the lashes would clump up just like the commercials claim] and that would end up pulling them out, and sometimes in large clumps, too. The gaps in my eyelashes were freakish, so I basically had to sit on my hands to keep them away from my eyes. The lashes always grow back, of course.
Now that I think about it, one of the reasons I got out of the habit of wearing make up was to avoid this stupid habit of yanking out eyelashes.
not so much fall out, more break, if u leave mascara on over night it hardens during the day beforehand and thus when ur sleeping ur eyelashes go against the pillow and cos they r more brittle they're more likely to snap. ive had it happen lost like 5 / 6 lashes. take it off i say

You lose eyelashes all the time. A little mascara isn't going to make a bit of difference.

I am in love with this mascara to be honest! It makes your lashes look thick, adds volume, holds curl and lenghtens them. Okay so it doesn't look like you have extreme false lashes in but it certainly looks like you have more lashes.
Be careful with the brush though, it's huge and may smudge along the eye lid but can be wiped away easily before it dries.

They sell special types of mascara for the extensions, and it runs around $30... I would recommend using clump fake lashes with some Diorshow to improve your look. Eyelash extensions are not only expensive, but they start to fall out and look really patchy and clumpy within a week or two....I wear clump lashes all the time, they look a lot more natural and you can take them off along with the rest of your makeup at night...Can you put mascara on eyelash extensions?
I've had eyelash extensions in the past and I don't recommend you putting on mascara because your eyelash extensions will fall out faster and easier.

Thus losing your semi-permenant lashes faster. Eyelash extensions when done right look so natural and beautiful on, remember to ask your Lash Artist to show you the lashes before hand to determine thickness, lengths and color.

Either way works actually , but it's a safer , better idea to do it before .

I'm thinking about buying Max Factor mascara, because I've heard so many good things about their 2000 Calorie Mascara. But I heard that they have a new volumizing mascara called Volume Couture. Which one is better?
Or should I go for L'oreal Voluminous?
I want my lashes to look long, curled and HUGE, but still separated and not clumpy. I'm going to a party and I don't plan on wearing much makeup.Which Max Factor mascara works the best?
first, curl your lashes so theyre naturally long. then, i would use lash injection, from sephora. she says its amasssiinng! i use loreal teloscopic, but it dosnt make them very curled. try M.A.C, im sure they have something your looking for.

I've tried the Volume Couture and it did absolutely nothing for me, so now I use Revlon's 3D Extreme Mascara and I love it!
the one in the purple tube is the best.
